WAYLON JENNINGS at JD's

Bat Records Phoenix, AZ 1964
1st Press Release
Recorded after he left Buddy & The Crickets

This auction is for a VERY NICE record album by Waylon Jennings, his debut album titled "Waylon at JD's"; this specific record is one of the first pressing copies from BAT Records; their number BAT-1001. There were only 500 records pressed, all of which were sold exclusively at J.D. Musil's nightclub; when the first 500 had been sold out, another 500 were pressed on the "Sounds" label--so would have to call this copy a fairly rare album!

He moved to rural Coolidge for a radio job in the early 60’s, then on to Phoenix, playing small clubs around town. When JD’s night club opened for business in 1964, Waylon and The Waylors were an instant success. We played all kinds of songs,” Jennings said, “I just didn’t sing country music. We did rock ‘n’ roll and some folk music and some blues.

Songs include:

  1. Crying
  2. Sally was a good ol girl
  3. Burning Memories
  4. Big Mamou
  5. Money
  6. Dont think twice
Side 2
  1. Dream Baby
  2. It's so Easy
  3. Lorena
  4. Love's Gonna Live Here
  5. Abilene
  6. White Lightnin'
Record looks & plays great
I've seen one of these first 500 recordings sell for over $300
