The Wedding Present's Locked Down & Stripped Back is a collection of tunes played for an online livestream after the UK live music scene was shut down because of the global pandemic. It features 12 tracks that were re-worked in a semi-acoustic style, with stripped-back arrangements bringing out different elements of the songs. Tracks like 'Blonde', because of the two guitar approach, sound beautifully naive, and there are also contributions from the band's long-time writing associate Terry de Castro and bass player Melanie Howard who took care of lead vocals on 'Sports Car'. It all adds up to a fresh record with a fresh perspective.
