FROM THE 'WIERD' AL YANCOVIC

One of the most RARE item in his history! 

This is the FIRST single from Weird Al EVER released! He LITERALLY made them 

IN HIS APARTMENT!

Only 1000 of these were made! 

The vinyl looks pretty clean but the outer sleeve has wear and some moisture

 damage. PLEASE LOOK AT ALL PHOTOS AND ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU HAVE 

THEM.

BUT...you will be HARD PRESSED to find a copy of this in ANY kind of decent 

condition. 

THIS IS CRAZY RARE AND HARD TO FIND!

DESCRIPTION:

1 - Another One Rides The Bus EP (1981) - Two years before his first album, "Weird

 Al" Yankovic produced 1,000 of these in his apartment and went around to local

 records shops in the San Luis Obispo area and asked them if they wanted to stock a

 few copies.  

2 - Back of the sleeve - This is the back, a printed version of what I think is Al's 

handwriting. Notice it credits someone named "Leroy Finklestein" for the

 choreography 

on Gotta Boogie. This is a completely fictional name written as a joke, and the same 

name would be used four years later in Al's I Lost on Jeopardy music video.

3 - Actual record - This is the actual record. Notice it says 'Placebo' on it, for Placebo 

Records. This item was actually self-released, and Placebo Records was made up by 

Al to give the record legitimacy.

4 - My Bologna singles (1979) - This is Al's first single, a parody of The Knack's My 

Sharona on Capitol Records. The song had become a small hit in Al's local area. The 

Knack had played a concert at Al's college, Cal Poly, and he managed to sneak 

backstage and meet them. It turned out that the had heard of the parody and on the 

spot convinced their manager to sign Al up to release the single. They paid him $500 

and under-advertised the single. The one on the left was part of the general release, of

 which 10,000 are thought to exist, but the two on the right are part of the promo 

release (which weren't for sale), and around 1,000 of these are thought to exist.

7 - Another One Rides The Bus single (1981) - This came out at around the same time 

as the EP, but this release was on an actual record label, TK Records. TK Records

 had 

existed for almost a decade, but they went in bankruptcy and folded the year this 

single was released, and this was one of the last records they released (some claim 

the last period, but there were at least two or three more put out after). If you're ever 

looking at a stack of 45s, the ones from TK Records are distinctive from that particular 

blue sleeve. On the far left and in the middle are two versions of the same record, one 

without a black stripe and one with, and on the far right is a promo copy.

"Another One Rides The Bus", despite being written in 1980, didn't get a proper studio 

recording until 2022, when it was remade for Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. The 

version 

on the 1981 single and EP, as well as the 1983 album, was only a live version 

recorded in the Dr. Demento studio.
