Description
Wham - Official British Music Industry Award
This is a genuine BPI British music industry Silver Disc Award from 1983 for 250,000 sales of Wham’s single, ‘Bad Boys’. This award is in an aluminium frame measuring 10x14 inches (26x36cms). There’s a couple of light marks on the disc itself, however, these are only noticeable from certain angles and in certain lights, so it doesn’t really detract from it’s appearance once it’s hanging on the wall. The plaque mounted below the record includes the BPI logo and the following text:

BPI (British Phonographic Industry) awards are the British equivalent of American RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) awards, and are only presented to artists, producers, record companies and others in the music industry that contributed to the success of a record (in this case, the industry employee who was responsible for promoting the record). This is an official music industry award and should not be confused with any kind of replica or ‘limited edition’ discs that are sold direct to the public.
