Description
ALEX JACKSON'S PLANTATION ORCHESTRA, shown here as "The Plantation Serenaders," was a red-hot band that toured around the midwest, who never hit the Big Time, who occupied the fringes of jazz. They do sizzling, uptempo versions of "WHEN ERASTUS PLAYS HIS OLD KAZOO" and "I CALL YOU SUGAR." The music is rough and ready out in the boondocks, on this incredibly scarce Silvertone record. Once upon a time, you could order it from the Sears-Roebuck catalogue!
This 1927 Silvertone 5502, derived from Electrobeam Gennett, has a tight, expertly repaired, three-inch hair crack, and a smaller one (half inch) or so on the edge, also repaired. These cracks don't interfere much with the music. The surface is a little grainy. I call the condition "V." In terms of actual wear, the record is closer to E-.

Kindly IGNORE the eBay shipping price of $4.10! It does not cover the costs of buying new cardboard boxes and stuffing, and hustling your item to the post office. The real cost is $7.00. (Seven Dollars). Please WAIT FOR MY PERSONAL INVOICE. Then add seven bucks to your total, if you live in the U.S.A. International shipping is even higher, so again: ***PLEASE WAIT FOR MY INVOICE!*** Thank you!
