WHITE NOISE An Electric Storm (Island UK 1969) Pink 'i' label
Delia Debyshire got together with David Vorhaus and a few others to create this groundbreaking, unique and truly amazing LP back in 1968. Brilliant and difficult to compare to others given it stands alone and took around a year to create. I suppose it has similarities to Fifty Foot Hose and USA, but is better and both weirder and less dated than either of those. The songwriting is stunning here too, cinematic with some dark deep emotions being explored alongside all the otherworldly and disturbing effects, noises and electronics. There are also some very catchy songs amongst it all too. This LP really stands on its own and is for me simply one of the greatest LPs ever recorded. This is the heavyweight pink 'i' pressing with textured labels and the record is in very nice condition.
Grading
Vinyl: VG++ looks EX and a lovely copy with only a few of the wispiest scuffs under bright light, plays with a little surface noise here and there.
Sleeve: VG- would be nice with only a little general wear, but has clear tape along spine which drags the grade down.
Grading
M- As new, no marks of any kind whatsoever.
EX Perhaps a few featherlight whispy marks, but no scratches or deterioration in sound
VG+ Some light marks on the vinyl, but nothing that should cause clicks or pops, just occasional light surface noise.
VG Some heavier marks and maybe a few scratches that will cause some noise, but will still be a very enjoyable listen with definitely no sticks or skips or constant surface noise.
