15 ips 2 TRACK Reel To Reel MASTER TAPE
Original Master I acquired from someone who worked at a radio station that this was sent to from the record company before they used CD's and when they preferred to not use records . This tape has been play tested and plays perfect from start to finish although by the time you get it might need to baked again. This is what we refer to in the reel to reel tape collecting business as a "baker" tape. If you are unfamiliar with how to bake a tape and at what temperature there is plenty of information on the web and if you are unsure what to please ask me. For an extra charge of $10 I can bake the tape before sending it which should allow you to play it for a certain period of time till it absorbs more moisture and needs to be baked again. Once the tape is baked it plays perfect and will sound much better than any CD or record ever would. This reel is exactly as I got it and everything you see is included. It is not a copy or a duplicate. This is the original from the record company that was sent to the Radio station in the 80's. The Music sounds great. Here is some information on what the radio station used these tapes for from the person these tapes were acquired from. I am only selling this tape because it is not my type of music that I like, but I am sure you will enjoy it or you would not be buying it.
"So here's the deal on what a cart is and how I got all these reel to reels. I did radio in the 1980's. Before CD's really took over and became the mainstream we played records on the air. They tended to be scratchy after they were played for a time. So when the radio station would add a current song for on air, the record company would send the station a reel to reel with the song..let's say Bruce Springsteen "Glory Days." The tape would mostly come from a Recording Studio and the sound quality was always great (which I loved). We would dub that reel to reel song onto something called a "cart". The "cart" was kind of like an 8 track tape but held only one song. (way before a dat tape) When the song was played on the air after being put on the "cart", the sound quality would always sound great and we wouldn't have to worry about the record skipping either. The reel then would be put away and stored in the music room after it was dubbed. In the late 1980's CD's were starting to get popular so they decided they were going to throw all these music reel to reels out to make room for CD's. So I took them home and held on to them for 30+ years. "
