THE WHOLE DARN FAMILY – “Has Arrived” (1976) Soul International-103 original pressing Strong VG+/EX (cover/record)

One of the all-time monster funk and rare groove albums from the mid-1970s. This album is a masterpiece with so many killer tracks. Their calling card is the killer instrumental “Seven Minutes of Funk” that is one of the deepest rhythm tracks you’ll ever hear. Another super dope funk-groove track is “New Yorkin’,” which has always reminded me of the best work by William DeVaughn, only funkier. More great soul and groove can be found in “Fly Away Love Bird” (killer soul) and “Ain’t Nothing But Something to Do.” The great Tyrone Thomas leads the band on vocals and drums. A total classic and so tough to find.

This is an original pressing. The cover has light ring wear – mostly on the back (white on white) with some aging spots and the slightest hint of water exposure along the bottom back where a tiny bit was stuck to another album and the slick tore when separated. Not bad at all. The vinyl is super glossy and clean with a light ink stamp on side two, and the wax has somewhat of a rippled surface, but it was a product of the factory pressing process, and it doesn’t affect play. It plays great! Conservative grading: Strong VG+/EX (cover/record).

I package all LPs securely in record mailers and remove the vinyl from the covers to prevent seam splits during mailing. I do not just stick your record in a priority mailer box from the post office or between two thin pieces of cardboard with no additional packaging materials like so many others!!!
