This LP contains original recordings made between 1963 and 1971 by several Blues devotes. Many of these artists are not well known but they all have high ability, and when this LP was published, nearly all of them had passed away, hence, Another Man Done Gone. The LP contains a thirteen page booklet by Bruce Bastin giving a biographical account of each musician along with their discography. "... the secular music of rural Blacks was the talent of the common man and seldom the perogative of professionals... a broad base of talent, with a wide repertoire, very little of which ever found its way on to commercial releases... playing Blues was as much part of their everyday life as whistling in the street or throwing horseshoes... as much a part of his life as was breathing... a man of immense skill with a deep love and understanding of music... with their passing, an era in Black American folk music will have ended. Their like will never reappear. There will be no replacements." The quality of the material is high!
The condition of the LP is near mint. The condition of the cover is excellent- with a partial crinkle/outline.
** if you are a Blues collector, you will find we are putting hundreds of vintage blues LPs up for auction over the coming year. My husband is grudgingly downsizing his massive collection which he has acquired over the past 40 years and you should find these listings worth considering. Because he was the only owner of these LPs and he had too many to listen to, they were played very, very little and are all in excellent condition. Mark this site as a 'favorite seller' or email if you have any questions, and thanks for looking!
