Description
Up for grabs an original "LES AILES DU DESIR (Der Himmel Uber Berlin/The Wings of Desire)" (1987) dir. Wim Wenders 12" vinyl LP movie soundtrack album, 1987 release on Milan (A316) black label (discontinued), glossy gatefold cardboard cover with information and lyrics inside (first press only), paper inner, made in France, condition cover/spine: Mint, fully retains its sheen, vinyl/labels: pristine Mint (actual pics shown, zoom over).
The '80s German poetic/surreal movie par excellence on abandoning self for Love: "different wings will grow in place of the old ones" (pic ref.only), emanating directly from the Romantic era. Set against the backdrop of divided Berlin anticipating the collapse of socialism and with a Raisa Gorbacheva cameo as U-Bahn commuter the soundtrack is another historical document within the movie capturing ex-Birthday Party shortly after they split into Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds (w/Blixa Bargeld) and Crime and the City Solution (w/Rowland S. Howard) on separate live shows, Laurie Anderson circa Strange Angels career turnpoint era, legendary Bruno Ganz (Werner Herzog Nosferatu) narrating Peter Hadke poetry, ultra limited original French press depicting the late Solveig Dommartin (the object of desire), out of print.
