Another from my personal collection, purchased from new over 30 years ago and never played until the one time prior to listing this album! Please note that I have most of the different UK variations of this album in my collection and any avid wings or McCartney collectors will know that this UK 'two boxed EMI label variation which caries the EMI\Parlophone catalogue number and pressed from the original UK master is vary scarce to find and in virtually unplayed condition is impossible to find like this! Look! YEX 871-1 1 and YEX 872-1  Matrix !  This has always been  stored in a case with the vinyl removed from the cover and the sleeve for protection. This how I have always stored my records. I am and have been a true avid collector of UK Beatles and related albums for more than 45 years or more and I own more than 1000 UK Beatles albums alone, and I have all of the Paul McCartney & related albums in my personal collection!. Please do not underestemate the rarety of this album in this condition, also this is the genuine UK (pressed from the earliest stampers)  This is complete with the original yellow record sleeve and  unlaminated cover! Please note! Any avid collectors of Paul McCartny albums would be aware of how hard it is to find near perfect copies of this album often suffer from static tics and clicks during silent parts. The vinyls playing surface on this vinyl is as new condition  there are (no) audio sounding marks or scratches at all!!

Wild Life is the debut album by Wings, engineered by Alan Parsons. It is also Paul McCartney's third album since the Beatles' breakup. Paul and Linda McCartney had worked with drummer Denny Seiwell on their prior album, Ram, and they added Denny Laine, the former leader of the Moody Blues, to that trio to become Wings!!!.

With a fresh set of McCartney/McCartney tunes, the newly formed Wings quickly recorded their debut that August with the mindset that it had to be instant and raw in order to capture the freshness and vitality of a live studio recording. Most of the songs were recorded in one take. Paul would later cite the quick recording schedule of Bob Dylan as an inspiration for this. Paul handled all lead vocals, sharing those duties with Linda on "I Am Your Singer"!!.

After a party announcing the band's formation that November, Wild Life appeared the following month to lukewarm commercial and critical reaction. The album reached #11 in the UK and #10 in the US, where it went gold!!!.

One notable song, "Dear Friend", apparently an attempt at reconciliation with John Lennon, was recorded during the Ram sessions!!!.

The liner notes for Wild Life (and on the Thrillington album) were credited to Clint Harrigan, but McCartney in 1990 admitted to journalist Peter Palmiere via an autograph request that he was Harrigan. Interesting enough, the first person who ever knew the identity of Harrigan was John Lennon who admitted as much during their Melody Maker feud in 1972!!!.

In addition to naming the previously hidden tracks, the original CD version added "Oh Woman, Oh Why" (the B-side of "Another Day"), "Mary Had a Little Lamb", and "Little Woman Love"!!!

The Vinyl

On visual inspection  The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable. This  looks SUPERBE ( NEAR PRISTINE) LOOKS UNPLAYED!  (no) audio sounding marks)still retaining its original glossy sheen from new. In strong light any other marks that could possibly be seen would have been caused by the record been slid in and out of its sleeve. 

The Audio Quality

I have played this through track for track prior to listing at loud volume on a top system one time only. The audio is superbe, cristal clear and vibrant. As expected this plays as new!! (NO) Signs of groovware at all This audio is graded at the very top!!!!(please note! this has never been played before this one time, ever from new and stored in a case with the vinyl removed from the sleeve and cover for protection , the way that I have always stored my records!)!!!!!!

PLEASE NOTE! I always add this disclaimer! I have played this album prior to listing track for track ona top system at loud volume and have given my honest opinion on the audio quality. Please remember this is over 30 years old, original vinyl (not a reissue) Please allow for the odd static (not) consistant through out the audio! !!(To be honest I never heard any static on my systems! This plays as good as it gets in my opinion) !

All indications i.e. that this vinyl has (not) been played   the audio quality superbe on all frequencies and the fact there are no visable spider marks!

The labels

This features the  two boxed EMI labels (that carry the PCS catalogue number) very rare and scarce label variation for this pressing. These are as new condition! This vinyl looks totaly unplayed in my opinion!!! Unbeleivable for over 30 years old!

The record Sleeve

This is the original yellow sleeve (no) splits or tares in superbe condition just very slight\minor creasing with age The vinyl is always stored seperately from the sleeve and cover, this is how i have always stored my records!!!

The Cover

This is the original Unlaminated cover (printed in England) in awesome condition with (no) real storageware to talk of indeed  the spine is absolutely perfect!! (No) real creases worth to mention, minor top corner bumbing only noticed if scrutinised! and if looked at angled to the light i can just see an indentation where a label was, again not noticable unless looked for No splits or tares this is strong and straight! Please note! This is the original thicker type of material used only on the earliest pressings! The rear is exceptionally white and clean. All writing is legible!! This must grade at least excellent to excellent plus !!!!
