WINGS Wild Life (Apple PCS 7142) Paul McCartney RARE UK 1st Pressing Inner MINT-
RARE UK first pressing of the debut album by Paul McCartney`s Wings, "Wild Life" on Apple Records (December 1971).
"Like Paul McCartney's first two post-Beatles albums. Wild Life is largely high on sentiment but rather flaccid musically and impotent lyrically, trivial and unaffecting. It lacks the exhilarating highs of Ram, and, in the form of a track called "I Am Your Singer," contains the most embarrassingly puerile single piece of work Paul's been associated with since "She's Leaving Home."
But allow no one to convince you that it's entirely devoid of merit: while it's vacuous, flaccid, impotent, trivial and unaffecting. It's also unpretentious, melodically charming in several places, warm, and pleasant. Mostly, it's nicely executed pop music, and should be taken or left on that basis alone." - John Mendelsohn in Rolling Stone, January 1972.

EX+ to MINT- COVER, carefully stored away for many years. Please see photos for details.
- Original textured UK first-pressing sleeve with pinched spine.
- Minor scuffing along the bottom edge only.
- Lightest discolouring to the back cover, as shown.
- Also includes custom-printed yellow Apple Records inner sleeve in MINT- condition.
EX++ to MINT- RECORD, carefully played a few times at most.
- Near-perfect vinyl on both sides, with impeccable audio reproduction throughout.
- A few light hairlines from sleeve removal only.
- Minor background crackle in the run-in and run-off grooves.
- Other than that, the record is visually absolutely pristine, with no scuffs, scratches or other signs of previous play at all.
- Original custom-printed Apple Records labels with a single, near-invisible spindle line on Side Two.
- Both labels state "An Apple Record / An EMI Recording / Mfd. in UK / Printed and made in England", as first pressings should.
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "YEX 871 - 1 1" on Side One and "YEX 872 - 1" on Side Two.
- Mothers/Stampers: "2 / O" on Side One and "2 / A M" on Side Two.
- This copy of "Wild Life" is certified to be a very first UK pressing, issued in December 1971.
