Description
This is a fine U.K. pressing copy of the second LP by British post-punk group Wire, released in 1978. The group's sophomore effort is a transitional work between the avant-pop-punk of their debut and the more experimental sounds of their subsequent work. It includes the group's third single, "I Am the Fly." For those into the minutiae: The Discogs site demurs on the exact status of this pressing, saying that either it is part of the first pressing (though with minor differences in the jacket and a black and white rather than lilac inner sleeve), or it is the first repressing of the record. What is clear from their assessment is that only this and the original version of the record have "MADE IN GT BRITAIN" printed on the disc labels (see picture -- sorry it's so blurry). The jacket is close to pristine (M-). Visually, the disc is clean. Side 1 plays with light to moderate surface noise audible mostly between tracks and in quieter passages (which a thorough cleaning might help alleviate), while side 2 plays close to M- with occasional light surface noise -- overall EX(-). The record comes with a die-cut black and white custom inner sleeve (M-).
I am in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
