Witch Woman and the Magic Charms:I Thought That We Were Both In Love/You Don't Care What Happens To Me (Witch Woman Records/196?)
Amazingly berzerk sub-garage female vocal extravaganza from Bloomington, California, I'd guess early 60s. This is definitely for fans of Lucia Pamela, but may be too intense even for them. Naturally (?!?), this is a spare copy.
On I Thought, her voice is so shrill, when I played it every dog in my neighborhood started freaking out. Her voice on You Don't Care is not so shrill, but maybe that's only because of the ton of echo it was recorded with. Both songs appear to be country ballads, judging by the slight twang emerging from the B side echo. Witchy is accompanied by an acoustic guitar that more often than not sounds like a harp, and what could possibly be a steel guitar, if it weren't so off-pitch and buried in the mix. I'm sure back-up band The Magic Charms were professionals, but here they never stood a chance.
This is a Mint copy that looks to be unplayed.
Shipping will be quoted with my post-auction message.
