Description
Workers Playtime is the fourth release (third full-length album) by Billy Bragg released September 20,1988. The album reached number 18 in the UK albums chart. The original album cover has the subtitle "Capitalism Is Killing Music", referring to the British Phonographic Industry's then-current campaign that "Home Taping Is Killing Music".
Billy Bragg’s music blends elements of folk music, punk rock and protest songs, with lyrics that mostly span political or romantic themes. His activism centers on social change and left-wing political causes.
THIS COPY is a PROMO copy from 1988 on the Elektra label (see Notes, below).
The vinyl has surface marks, but per a test listen, none that affect playback. The labels are white and includes the statement "Promotional Copy Not For Sale". The vinyl is in Very Good Plus [VG] condition.
The original cover has a short saw cut near the upper left corner when viewed from the front (probably indicating a "cut-out"). A "hype" sticker, also near the upper left corner on the front, says it was "Pressed On Audiophile Vinyl". Overall, the cover is in Very Good Plus [VG+] or (probably) better condition.
The original inner sleeve, which is white with printed lyrics and credits on both sides, has a middle split on one side seam. It is in Very Good Plus [VG+] or better condition.
