KIM FOWLEY
Good Clean Fun
\ USA - Liberty Records - LP 12443
Original 1969 first pressing vinyl of RARE Kim Fowley solo ...although uncredited, this album has the cast and character hangouts from the G.T.O.'s (Girls Togeher Outrageously) who made the '69 Straight Records "Permenant Damage" Lp...
Far more known as a producer, scenemaker, and talent scout than as a performer -- Kim Fowley's 60s Lp's on Imperial records are sought after by collectors, being fine examples of the sixties Sunset Strip psych sound with trippy organ and guitar effects....One of the true hipsters of the Los Angeles scene, the cat knew where it was at, even though occasionally over the top -- making for good listening some 40+ years later and the reason why collectors over the universe scramble for clean original copies before they're eventually gone, as they will be....
GOOD CLEAN FUN is a fine example of Kim Fowley and his wigged-out sounds; from hip-speak recitations overlayed with guitar-ago-go grooves to flower-power poetry and on to acid eating sound effect ala early Mothers Of Invention -- the underbelly of the sixties freakbeat scene is presented in a nutshell on "Good Clean Fun" ...
