Lester Young Trio- Mercury LP # C-104( 2 78 Records # 11048 & 11049 ) Here is very rare 78 LP in exceptionallyl good shape. Joining The Pres and his great tenor sax are Buddy Rich on drums and Aye Guy ( aka Nat "King " Cole ) on piano. The 4 super numbers are I Cover the Waterfront, Somebody Loves Me, Back To The Land and I Found a New Baby. The songs were recorded in 1946.This album was supervised by Norman Granz. I am not sure of the LP's release date. The 10" LP reissue came out in 1951 ( it books for $300 ) and so this LP was released between those 2 dates.If anyone knows for sure, please let me know. I am not that familiar with 78s but these are in exceptionally good shape. Visually they would be VG+ to VG++. I played them on my old turntable and they played great with no to minimal surface noise. Really great listening ! The cover shows its age a little more.There is minor staining inside the front cover, a small piece of tape on the lower part of the middle seam and some wear on the edges. Let's give it a VG.I have set a low reserve fee for this rare winner !!!
