.Stay- Maurice Williams & The Zodiacs-1961 Herald # HLP-1014
Here ia a real nice copy of a mega rare 1961 rock LP.The group was previously named The Gladiolas and originally recorded Little Darling, which was covered by The Diamonds and became a monster hit. They became the Zodiacs and their first release for Herald -"Stay", which was written by Maurice, became a number one record in 1960. You get 14 winners here. Included is the title hit song, Nearness of You, But Not For Me, I Got a Woman, Do You Believe and a great cover of The Fiestas' So Fine.
The shiny record has a few very light scratches, is in great shape and VG++. The cover looks fine . The bottom seam is fully split and the top seam has a 6" split. Without the splits, it would also be a VG++ but now I guess it's a VG. This rare beauty books for $500 in Goldmine. It's not M- but it's a very nice acquisition for someone's collection. NO RESERVE !!!
