Description
Here's an outstanding copy of piano great Walter Roland's 1935 Melotone 78 of "Talkin' Low Blues" backed with "Money Taker Woman." These songs were recorded in New York City on March 7 and 8, 1935, with Josh White, most likely, sitting in on guitar. (During this same week, Roland played piano on blues singer Lucille Bogan's final sessions.) The matrix number on "Talkin' Low Blues" is 17012, while the other is 16995. This record has very little surface wear, with the only visible defects being slight wear on the "Money Taker" side. I'd conservatively rate it at VG+ but it could well be in the E range.
