Wewantsounds here reissues the album recorded in 1973 by the legendary Lebanese-Algerian diva Warda which was sampled by Jay Z and J Dilla. Captured in public, Khalik hena mixes traditional Arabic music with a hint of 70s groove. Warda delivers a hypnotic performance accompanied by his Egyptian orchestra and his famous string section which made the records of Oum Khalthoum, Farid El Atrache and Abdel Halim Hafez so famous. Khalik hena is one of the diva's great classics, written by the legendary composer Baligh Hamdi. This remastered reissue with the original cover contains a 2-page insert with a new introduction by Mario Choueiry of the Institut du Monde Arabe, curator of the Wewantsounds Middle East reissue series.
