Description
This original Warhorse1970 pressing featuring Ashley Holt who previously auditioned for Deep Purple in 1968 and has featured on various Rick Wakeman albums. This album was released not long after they made their debut live show supporting Mott The Hoople in Hemel Hempstead. This album "Warhorse" was released in November 1970.Everything about the vinyl, cover and sleeve is completely original. Starting with the vinyl the condition is excellent and has been played on a Linn LP12 deck. The label itself is mint with side A showing the Vertigo swirl. The vinyl sleeve is the original full Vertigo swirl and is undamaged, but has gone brown from age but has no tears or rips. The cover is in excellent condition and shows no sign of any damage other than minor wear on the bottom and top of the spine, there are no marks to the front,inside and back cover.Track listing is as follows; Side A: Vulture Blood, No Change, Burning, St Louis (released as a single) Side B: Ritual, Solitude, Woman Of The Devil. Serial No 6360 015 on vinyl and label. Rick Wakeman produced some demos for the band and then borrowed Ashley Holt for Journey To The Centre Of The Earth...the band came to a close in June 1974..this is not the re-released version with some live tracks added in 1972 but the bona fide original pressing!!......Cool & just recently 1 sold for a lot of money with a damaged taped cover and vinyl......If you have read this far then inside the front cover it has been signed by Ashley Holt adjacent to the picture of him.(see photo). This was signed just recently and whilst it should not add any value to the LP maybe someone would want to add the rest of the bands signatures and make it a really great keepsake. Try and keep it in this country as this is a real piece of Englands rock heritage and deserves to go to a good home. Ignore the mix of colours in the photos as some were snapped under artificial light....others in daylight.
