Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire. - U.S. ltd. ed. - Yellow with dark blue A-B and C.ontra B.and M.usic label states:
- " We Never Really Got It On Till Detroit: The Rolling Stones "
- The Contra Band Music (CBM) label was a pioneer in the field of underground recordings in the early seventies. They were absolutely unfairly written off in Clinton Heylin's book "Bootleg" -- as a "copy label." While they did copy material from existing Trade Mark of Quality (TMoQ) recordings, they also managed to include many unique sources as this unique Rolling Stones release provides.
- C.B.M. went by a couple aliases that include King Kong Records and Wisconsin Cheese Records. Releases were characterized by "insert" custom art covers that were the standard at the time.
Exclusive versions preformed only here:
Side 1:-
- Jumpin' Jack Flash
- Carol
- Sympathy for the Devil
- Prodigal Son
- You Gotta Move
Side 2: - Little Queenie
- Satisfaction
- Honky Tonk Women
- Street Fighting Man
This is an audience source recording of Detroit Stadium, November 24, 1969 1st show.
- The title is taken from a quote from Mick Jagger on the '69 tour:
-
"The band got better and better the more they performed. That was clear to anyone who heard them on the West Coast, in San Francisco or Los Angeles, and then, later, in New York or West Palm Beach. It was clear to Mick, who noted: 'Compared to the way we sounded later along, we were terrible in San Francisco. Ragged. By the time we were in Detroit, I'd say, it was like a one hundred percent improvement.'"
- CONDITION:
- The cover: rated: near M- the custom , very fragile art paste-on insert is really nice after around 50 years! On backing white cardboard cover, the artifact remains as a "top copy" - good luck finding one - and one in better condition: vinyl below.
- There are no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing ...
- The vinyl: Rated: M- complimenting the cover, the clear vinyl represents the release as basically what would have been purchased some 50 years back. Harder to find, this one, than you may realize. Have had in back-stock vaults here for many past years and never came 'cross another copy on same - or any level, actually.
- Both "Contra Band Music" (CBM) labels are clean-clean
A cool addition to anyone's music library!
