Description
REACTION RECORDS was an independent British record label, run by music executive Robert Stigwood in 1966 and 1967. Reaction released only three albums, one EP and eighteen singles in its brief existence, this being the thirteenth of the singles.
This group started their recording career in 1965 as THE EMOTIONS and released just one single (POLYDOR BM 56025). The record only received a few plays on Radio Luxembourg and the pirate record stations which were around at the time and made little impact. They changed their name to WEST POINT SUPERNATURAL for Time Will Tell/Night Train, their second release, in 1967. This faired a little better, reaching number 35 in Radio London’s Top 40 Show in April of that year. I can’t find any information regarding subsequent releases by the group and it may well be that this was their last offering. Typical of the sounds pervading the 60’s music scene, heavy with drums and base guitar, there is certainly nothing here (other than their superb name) to distinguish this group from the many others around at the time. However, as pop rareities go, this has to be a very hard to find little gem!
The vinyl is lovely and shiny and examination under a magnifying glass shows little, other than two small scratches on Night Train. However, there is some crackle on both sides, which I find surprising for such a clean vinyl. The labels have some spindle marks, which I try to show in the pics, but otherwise are very clean. Unfortunately, I don’t have the original sleeve, so it will come with a plain white one.
Stamper Codes, which here are an extension of the Matrices, indicate that this is a FIRST PRESS.

I rate this record, in accordance with Record Collector’s grading system, as somewhere between VG+ and Excellent. However, my assessment is subjective and I would never seek to mislead anyone, so if it doesn’t meet with expectation I will accept return of the record (in its present condition) and make full refund.
