Description
The Triple Inchophone is a tiny record player that The White Stripes sourced from the Bandai toy company in Asia.
The White Stripes sold these 3-inch vinyl spinners exclusively on their live tour,
along with their major singles in the quaint little format,
they also released a 3â€-only original titled, “Top Special†which is included in this set.
Basically; it is Bandai’s 8-Ban player, a toy-sized record player which was launched in 2003/2004.
www.8-ban.com is now obsolete and the few vinyl selections Bandai released on their record label are equally obscure
(a selection of various 60’s artists were given the eightbanrecord treatment,
Monkees, Drifters, Otis Redding, to name a few).
The White Stripes hoped to obtain 3000 of the players, but only 400 survived the cull.
They then mastered and pressed some 3 inch vinyl singles and sold both at their shows.
The six singles in the set are:
1 - Hotel Yorba,
2 - Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground,
3 - Fell in Love with a Girl,
4 - 7 Nation Army,
5 - The Hardest Button to Button,
6 - Blue Orchid.
Also included is the new song,
"Top Special", which is not to be released in any other format,
making it possibly the rarest most collectible White Stripes Single yet, as this is the only way to hear it
– unless you have a bootleg, or know someone who does.
The record player box is pristine, as sold at the show, never been opened, and in mint condition. Same goes for the records, all still sealed in their little baggies.
Apparently the player even has a speed control adjustment to change the speed of the records you are playing if your batteries run low.
Insurance is mandatory due to the rarity of this item.
But as always, you will pay actual costs - any extra you will be reimbursed.
