Description
This auction is for an insanely rare White Zombie Pig Heaven 7" EP. This was released in 1986 (think "Slippery When Wet", it's that old!) waaaayyyyy before the band became even remotely popular and was released on the band's own label. This record was given to me by a friend about 12 years ago when I was really into White Zombie (and I'd never heard of this EP) and I've had it stored in a sleeve with my most treasured records since. I can vouch that I have never personally played it and it looks like it was never played previously: there are no scratches, no deep grooves, no surface wear, it looks perfect after 20 years! The cover sleeve (of course featuring Rob Straker, not Zombie, "Straker" art) is in near mint condition front and back with just a few very minor wrinkles. There are no tears or folds anywhere. Although the pic looks as though a circle has worn on the cover, this is only on the protective plastic sleeve (which I kept it in when I scanned the front) -- rest assured the cover art is perfect with very deep, rich blacks and beautiful colors in the small area that has color. The interior lyric sheet is also in nice condition and neither interior nor exterior sleeve show any signs of age (the record sleeve itself has begun to go off-white, though) It has been stored (never displayed), appropriately, in a dark, cool area free from smoke and any other harmful elements. Some online research (wikipedia, if you want to look it up) has revealed that there are two pressings of this record and each was limited to only 500. This copy lists the guitarist as "Tim Jeffs" which indicates that this is from the first pressing. I spoke to a record dealer and collector shortly after I got it and he told me he was not aware of any bootleg copies of the album. I can't even begin to guess how many of these could have survived in the last 2 decades, especially in such pristine condition! Also consider that the first EP the band released has mainly been kept by the band themselves and only about 100 have made it to the public. This will probably be the earliest example of White Zombie's music you will ever get your hands on and who knows when another one will be available. Many of the band's other early albums have been rereleased on CD, but I'm not aware of this one existing in any other form! Check my other auctions for more good Zombie vinyl!
