Description
This is a VERY COOL and VERY RARE record from the band WHITE ZOMBIE
This is the first pressing of their second 7 inch release PIG HEAVEN. Years before they became a household name from the La Sexorcisto / Astro Creep 2000 albums. They were just like any other struggling new band. Here is their extremely rare first pressing of PIG HEAVEN.
There was only 500 or so copies of this record produced, so it is very rare to find an original such as this. I bought this is the early 90's at a record convention and it has been on my shelf ever since then. I was a huge White Zombie fan, but I no longer need this Item. The album cover, inner sleeve and record hub all feature original art work from Rob Zombie.
From what I have read in Sean Yseult's book "Im in the Band" and the newly released CD box set box "It came from NYC" when this record was made they released most of this pressing as a B/W cover. The band colored a select few - This is one of them!!! Very RARE. To try to create more of a demand the record was re-released with a different cover to try to give the impression that the previous one sold so well and was in high demand.
On side A etched around the hub it says "MO418 Pig Heaven" and etched on the hub for side to it reads "MO419 Slaughter the Grey".
**I have also included a picture that shows what both covers look like for record. Only the first pressing is included in this auction. That picture was taken from the "It came from NYC" book.
**Condition**
The record looks amazing, I am not seeing any scratches. The cover, which is just a piece of paper the band had printed at print shop that Sean I believe worked at, does of some minor shelf wear. there are some dings and slight creases around the edges. It is not horrible by any means its just not perfect either. For a rare record 30 years old I think it looks fantastic!!!! The record also comes in it's original sleeve with insert.
This piece history deserves to be in a frame on some fans wall!
