Description
5 unplayed albums (total of 8 discs) with jackets in mostly excellent cosmetic condition. Some are promos. Please read carefully & at the end, you'll find a description of 5 fun bonus albums!
1. A Quick One & The Who Sell Out, 1973, double LP re-release of the 1967 & 1968 originals - U.S. pressings with red "Sample Copy" sticker on back. Brown & blue label on discs inside original MCA dust jackets. Slight wear on black portions of album jacket -- see photos 5 & 6. Lower right corner clipped by record company. (You probably know this, but "A Quick One" was also released as "Happy Jack.")
2. My Generation & Magic Bus, 1973, double album re-release of the 1966 & 1968 originals - U.S. pressings with red "Sample Copy" sticker on back. Brown & blue label on discs inside original MCA dust jackets. Slight wear on black portions of album jacket -- see photos 5 & 6. Lower left corner clipped by record company.
3. Who Are You, 1978 - U.S. picture disc sealed in original shrink wrap. In fairness, not that unusual -- no one played these discs! Mint. No promo stamp.
4. Who Are You, 1978 - U.S. pressing with red "Sample Copy" sticker on back. Two-tone tan label on disc inside original MCA dust jacket. Jacket is in beautiful condition except tiny bit of wear on upper right back of the jacket, visible in photo 9. Upper right corner clipped by the record company. Label on front, "ATTENTION, Who Are You (Side 2, Track 4) contains lyrics that may offend."
5. The Kids Are Alright, 1979 - Original U.S. pressing. Gorgeous condition inside and out. The only indication it was a promo is the hole punched in the upper right corner. Inside are the original full-color booklet that came with this double album, original picture dust jackets and custom labels printed to look like film reels since Kids was a soundtrack album for this Roger Corman production starring The Who.
So, now for the fun stuff! 5 bonus albums consisting of the o riginal U.S. pressings of the first three Who albums: My Generation (1966), Happy Jack aka A Quick One (1967), Sell Out (1968). Also, the live albums Magic Bus (1968) & Live At Leeds (1970). All are on Decca, in stereo. So why am I giving these away? All of my album listings for The Who and others artists are unplayed. These five LPs were radio station copies (although not marked as promos) and were definitely played! All are in surprisingly good condition with few visible light scratches. As you will see on the front of the jackets, there are handwritten stickers marked "Fresh Copy," meaning the new discs were slipped inside the old beaten-up jackets by the station music director every time the disc jockeys complained that something was skipping. No idea what became of the original jackets -- perhaps they're for sale somewhere on eBay!

Please do not request media mail as I am not a high volume professional trader and FedEx is the service I trust to get valuable items to buyers 100% of the time. More about the collection: All albums in this and my other listings are from my personal collection dating back to a long-ago career in rock radio. Record sales are not my livelihood, so rather than attempt to grade them using a system in which I have no expertise, I prefer to let the photos and my honest descriptions tell the story. If they're described as unplayed, it's because I never played them and there've been no other owners.
