Description

Hi and welcome to my auction. All my auctions will start at 0,99£ with NO reserve, so grab a bargain. Please read everything carefully here, so you won’t miss anything. My seller feedback is 100% positive so you can bid with confidence. Grading a record is always very hard, as everyone got their own grading system. I always check my records under a critical light so there won’t be any surprises (many sellers don’t do this), so I will see even the lightest hairlines and sleeve lines which you won’t see in normal room light. I’m a collector myself, so I do my best to be honest with my grading. Please see my grading system in the bottom of this page. Thanks for reading everything and happy bidding!!!
What I have for sale here is:
Artist: Wigwam Title: Tombstone Valentine Label: Love Records Cat#: LRLP 19 Made in: Finland 1970
Progarchives.com: Released in 1970, WIGWAM's second album "Tombstone Valentine" uniquely stands on its own as not only a precursor to what was still to come but also a wonderful album bubbling over with soul searching folk/psych/prog leanings. The first few WIGWAM albums are truly wonderful and generally cover a wide range of musical ground. This album is a collection is 11 tracks with a heavy focus on folk-blues-rock songs giving at times allusion to the symphonic prog the later albums would explore. Hard to exactly peg down this album but definitely hear some PROCOL HARUM and a piece of maybe folk-era HOELDERLIN. "Tombstone Valentine" introduced us to new WIGWAM members Jukka Tolonen (guitarist) and bassist/composer Pekka Pohjola. WIGWAM were lead by both Jukka Gustavson (organ, piano) and vocalist England's Jim Pembroke'. Overall this is an excellent album that showed WIGWAM in early form performing unconventional and original selection of folk/prog and clearly shows a young band searching for a chemistry that began to gel on this album.

Condition: EX / VG+ (Record/Cover)

Record is in TOP EX condition, Record looks unplayed...Wonderful!! Cover looks nice, some edgewear on bottom edge and light bending in top right corner.

Grading (Record):
This is my grading system. I’m very strict when grading a record. Mostly my VG+ grade is most sellers EX. Please note that I will not sell anything below VG condition. Also, I don’t use VG+++ or EX+++++ like some sellers do…

NM (NEAR MINT)
This is highest grade that I will assign to opened, handled records. The vinyl is virtually flawless, bright and shiny. A very minor, barely visible scuff or two may be permitted, but no scratches. The disc should play with no audible noise. The label is bright, clean and unmarked.

EX (EXCELLENT)
Disc plays near perfectly, but may have minor paper scuffs that do not interfere with the sound quality. There can possibly be a few hairline scratches but nothing that is obvious or affects play. Vinyl is bright and shiny; label is clean and unmarked.

VG+ (VERY GOOD+)
Some visible surface wear, very minor scratches and scuffs, but minimal impact on the sound quality. Might have a light click or two, but NO skips or jumps. Vinyl will still have good luster; labels may have minor imperfections but otherwise clean.

Grading (Cover):

NM (NEAR MINT)
Very minor signs of wear or cover impressions. Artwork is as close to perfection as possible.

EX (EXCELLENT)
Minor disc impression or slight corner creases, no wrinkles, puckers, seam splits or writing on the cover. Artwork is clean and unworn and there is no ink wear.

VG+ (VERY GOOD+)
Cover is clean but may have minor writing or marks and may show slight wear. There may be just the start of ring wear, where the disc has created a raised area on the cover that resulted in the ink wearing off the paper. There may be slight discoloration or staining, minor seam wear, but no splits or tears. Corners may have small creases or fraying.
