For years I have heard the expression — they are Christian folks — that has always meant to me someone friendly, easy to talk with and people I enjoy being around. That is what I am saying about the gospel singing — Good Intentions — of Willis Virginia. They have recorded several albums in the past — since their formation in 1970 — so you may have heard them sing before. But I don’t believe they have ever done better singing than on this album. A good way to know singers is the songs they sing, such as the title song — Amazing Grace — that tells me Lonzie, Rush, Russel, Josephine, Brenda and Martha all are grateful for the Word of God (Ephesians 2:8 — For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. I have always believed that sometimes preaching comes in singing form, so hallelujah for every gospel preacher and hallelujah for every gospel song.
