Description

Swastika J-1001 (1959) Willy Tremain's Thunderbirds"Midnight Express"/"Frankie's Rock", M, autographed. Label owner Jim Kirchstein ordered 500 copies to be pressed by RCA in August 1959 for this band from Mauston, Wisconsin. He estimates that he sent at least 125 to radio stations, and the band members autographed some of the remaining stock (unknown how many). A second pressing was ordered 4 months later, but Kirchstein realized that the Swastika name was a "dumb mistake" and he changed it to Cuca (but not for the reasons that may be found in some other sources). Sometime around the early 90's, Willy (now Bill) Tremain's brother ran into an old friend who still had some of the autographed copies. I received this one directly from Bill Tremain in 1995.
