Description
This is a 1st pressing original copy, self-released on Greg Sage's own Trap Records (810x44), of the Wipers debut 7" 3 song EP, Better Off Dead. A great find for the collector of rare punk rock/hardcore records. Released in 1978, by one of the earliest upper west coast punk bands, it features 3 great, slightly surf-tinged punk songs. Hugely influential on later punk/grunge bands such as, among others, Nirvana and Mudhoney.
Track Listing: Side A Better Off Dead Side B Up In Flames, Does It Hurt?.
The original, folded, double-sided paper picture sleeve is in great shape (VG+): some creasing, in particular on right top of the sleeve. A few very tiny tears (1/32 to 1/16 inch) along the top of the sleeve, and maybe some slight, barely perceptible ring wear. All in all, in really great shape, a nice, sharp, clean copy.
The vinyl is in great shape: VG+ to NM: no scratches, dings, or scuffs, and no extraneous noise. Played only a few times (including once recently to assess the sound quality), the vinyl still looks shiny and clean, and is a great copy for someone lucky enough to own it.
Please, do not bid on this record if you have no feedback,or poor feedback, on Ebay.
If you are a winner of this auction, please pay, via PayPal, within 3 days of the end of the auction; once you have paid, I will ship your record within 3 business days, and hopefully sooner than that.
I do have a $4.50 handling charge, to partially cover my costs for insurance and packaging materials (heavy duty box and 4 sheets of foamboard). The buyer is responsible for all shipping charges.
Once you receive your record, please let me know it has arrived, and enter your feedback on ebay as soon as possible, as PayPal will soon be starting a new policy, for all new sellers with fewer than 100 hundred sales, placing payments on hold in their PayPal account until delivery is confirmed and feedback is entered. I don't understand why they are doing this, as my feedback is excellent and at 100%, but it is what it is.
If you win this auction, and are a U.S. buyer, I will ship your record via USPS Priority Mail.
If you are an international buyer, please do not pay until I have sent you an invoice with the correct shipping charges for your location. Before I send an invoice, I will contact you to determine which USPS shipping method you want me to use: 1st Class Mail International, Priority Mail International, or Express Mail International. Express Mail has the best protection, both for you as a buyer and me as a seller, but I will ship based on what you want me to use. If you don't want me to declare the full value of the record for customs purposes, to avoid heavy customs duties and taxes, I will only cover the amount you wish me to declare in the event the record is lost, stolen, or damaged in transit. If you choose 1st Class Mail, the package can not be insured, and ebay's buyer protection program will not apply. I strongly urge all international buyers, for your protection and mine, to only use USPS Priority Mail International, or USPS Express Mail International.
Happy bidding!!!
