Cover: Single-cover textured sleeve printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. There is significant edge-wear and little text is visible. There is some light ringwear on the rear of the cover. Still a nice cover for its age.
Inner Sleeve: Original white poly-lined inner sleeve with blue “U.K. Patent No. 1,072,844” and “Foreign Patents Pending” text. The sleeve has discoloured with age but no splits.
Labels: Original sky-blue labels.
Vinyl: Looks near-mint under normal lighting but on closer inspection some fine lines apparent. Middle Earth were not renowned for having the best pressings; as a consequence, there is some occassional light surface noise, which can be noticeable in between tracks or during quieter moments. It certainly isn’t loud or intrusive and does not detract from the music itself. Otherwise, no ticks, skips or distortion. A hugely enjoyable original, but there is that occassional light surface noise.
Has been played on a Thorens and Systemdek only.price rating
