Or just bid on MINE !!
Even rarer than the Bruckner ASD 493 recording you probably THOUGHT THIS WAS, is this Schuricht conducting Beethoven No. 9 (Choral) Symphony recorded in 1957 in France, (won the Grand Prix Du Disque de Paris 1960). BUT PRESSED IN UK as a HMV Concert Classics series from the original French FALP recordings.
Curiously note, this set of 2 LP's has the cover picture of the french FALP Box set as linke to above, while the other UK set linked to above has a different Schuricht cover picture. These are definitely 1N/ 2N stampers.
Only recorded in MONO and never originally released in USA or Germany. A later recording in stereo was released, but this is the original 1957 session, only released in the UK on the HMV Concert Classics series, (XLP 20001/2) In a highly competetive market Schurichts Mono recordings were timed badly just at the advent of Stereo, and quickly fell by the wayside. Original french stock No. was FALP 577/8, and worth a lot if you can get a hold of them. If you can't find or afford a copy of those and want to complete your Schuricht collection, TRY THIS!!
Same stampers as the French pressing on 4 sides,(2XLA 576, 577, 578 and 412, and all 1N/2N stamper codes) the 4th side on these and french pressings was the 5th Symph.
NO rotational spindle marks, very minimal paper scuffs in sunlight only. Cover is NM-, as per above comments(see photos) This is a pancake (flat edged) thick early pressing, issue of Beethoven from the analogue recordings we all treasure. I thoroughly enjoyed test playing this issue of a great classic LP set. You can therefore only prise it from my non greasy fingers with an opening bid of $19.99.....Or I'll keep it.......
