Description
XTC Skylarking Vinyl LP 1986 Geffen GHS 24117 SRC Reissue with ‘Dear God’
This is the same year Reissue pressing of XTC - Skylarking on Geffen Records from 1986. Vinyl itself is in excellent condition. Only a few hairline scratches as highlighted in my photos. Plays great. No skips, hangs, warps, or repeats.
** Collectors Note: Found this on a vinyl blog regarding this exact release — “This reissue includes "Dear God" (as track B5) in place of "Mermaid Smiled" (originally track B4), which had appeared in its place on the first US release in an attempt to avoid controversy. In fact, controversy followed, and "Dear God" became a hit.” So it seems the actual first press, did not contain ‘Dear God’.
Record comes with paper lyric sleeve. Bottom and one side have 1 inch slips in seam where vinyl touches. Outer jacket has the original clear plastic shrink. Some corner bump wear, and on jacket opening as shown in photos. But overall in good condition. This record has been stored in a record crate since the late 1980’s.

I use a ring light to highlight any noticeable scuffs or scratches in my vinyl auctions. Also helps to better highlight the runout etchings, which will indicate the exact version of the release.
I listen to all the albums prior to auction and will reference any jumps, skips, warps, repeats, etc. Or anything that will effect play in my listing. Will also always indicate any scratches that are deep enough to cause a noticeable click or pop sound.
I also don’t use any disc cleaning or disc washing system. So any residual dust or smudges have not been removed.
With that being said, I want to be as clear and honest to the exact condition of each listing, and depict any imperfections as well as I can with the ring light.
Feel free to contact me with questions, or any additional photos.
I ship free USPS Priority Mail for US bidders!
Albums are packaged very well using a record box mailer, cardboard inserts, corner and edge protection, bubble wrap, etc.
Stay tuned to my auctions for more rare gems in the coming weeks. Thanks for bidding!
