UNIQUE TO CANADA!! This is one of the "holy grails " of the Yardbirds output. I say Unique, due to the COVER and the TRACK listing, and the final MONO MIX.
The cover features BOTH Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page! WOW. Page looks rather small and slightly disgruntled, but still confident. Jeff looks a tad Cocky..but that's ok, he had just spent his time, blazing the electric guitar trail of the gods. Haha. I have seen annother shot from this photo session on a europe 7" pic sleeve..but not this one.
Like all Capitol 6000's from Canada, the Pressing is unparallelled! The standards are tops, and true 180-220 gram.
This is a well played copy, but it is NOT a WORN GROOVE copy. There are numerous skuffs and odd lite scratches, but they do not affect playback. there are pops and clicks, but NO distortion. The vinyl otherwise is still glossy and information rich. When I checked the frequency range, it had an uncommonly wide dynamic range, with the high's going beyond 22,000 cycles.
VERY clear and open mix, and unique to this pressing. Some say these 6000 pressings are the best!
OH>..and the tracklisting. Unlike any other edition of this. (other than the stereo canada copy) It includes The hit single "shape of things" which was NOT on the UK (roger the engineer) or USA pressing. It's closest to the UK track order, instead, the canada version omits "jeff's boogie" (b side of "shapes" 45) and includes "shapes of things" Has 12 tracks, the USA press has only 10!
