These special Japanese imported picture discs were made in extremely limited quantities. Rumoured to be ONLY one hundred each, worldwide! I attempted to obtain more copies, as the interest in them is overwhelming. I could only get a few more, and this is the absolute LAST copy of the Yes classic 'Relayer', on picture disc, that I'll be able to offer!
Celebrating FORTY FIVE years since its original release, the progressive rock masterpiece from Yes is still awesome sounding, to this very day! 'Relayer' has only ONE song on the A side, and TWO songs on the B side. It was the first to feature new keyboardist Patrick Moraz, who replaced longtime member Rick Wakeman. (Wakeman would return and leave, several more times, through the years.)
The cover was created by famed artist Roger Dean. Dean has said in interviews that 'Relayer' is his favorite Yes cover that he designed. It's truly amazing, and looks even better on a picture disc! Dean has, of course, designed album covers for Asia, Uriah Heep, Budgie, Atomic Rooster, and others. Several Yes covers were Dean creations, and he also designed covers for Rick Wakeman's solo projects, Steve Howe's solo albums, and the Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman, and Howe records (Yes, basically, under another name)!
This beautiful and rare Yes picture disc comes with an obi type strip backing card. The back of the backing card has a Yes discography. The record is a heavy vinyl, and may even be 180 grams, though it doesn't say that anywhere. An extremely rare piece to have, these don't last long on eBay, and they go for big buck$ when auctioned off! Grab one of the last remaining copies of this progressive rock forty five year old milestone!
