Yes’s landmark and magnificent third studio album The Yes Album. A fantastic copy of this ULTRA RARE EARLIEST UK FIRST PRESSING ! What signifies this as the absolute earliest copy of this record are the A1 and B1 matrices and the 'CAMPBELL CONNELLY & CO' label credits. Only the VERY FIRST copies pressed carry this publishing credit as it was changed to the more common 'Yessongs' very shortly after release. Also the original inner sleeve carries the legend 'printed in england 0371' confirming this as March 1971. The absolute EARLIEST UK FIRST PRESSING !! This record was the one that put them on the road to real Supergroup status. It opens with the classic 'Yours Is No Disgrace'. The production on this record is nothing short of wonderful ! Powered by Chris Squire’s mountainous bass lines and Steve Howe’s frantic guitar, this was to become the first of many Yes classics. Howe's solo acoustic piece 'The Clap' is up next followed by the three part epic 'Starship Trooper'. Yet another stunner, 'I've Seen All Good People' opens side two followed by the Jazzy, melodic 'A Venture'. Finishing with what was to become yet another classic, 'Perpetual Change' closes this fantastic and seminal album. Utterly brilliant !!
The Vinyl is in EXCELLENT+ condition with absolutely NO CLICKS OR POPS ! Just a smattering of very light surface noise at the beginning of side two and in one or two other places, but it really is minimal. There are two marks on side two but these absolutely do not sound or affect the audio reproduction at all. The audio is stunningly clear and powerful from this earliest first pressing with NO DISTORTION from groove wear. The original UK MacNeill printed sleeve is in VG+ condition with some wear to the edges and spine.
All in all, a great chance to own a fabulous copy of this EARLIEST PRESS RED/PLUM UK album !!
