You Can Dance / Madonna Rare Mint Irish Pressing. Condition is "Used". Dispatched with Royal Mail.

This is a copy of Madonna’s 1987 compilation of extended remixes of some of her biggest hits.

The LP is just about in the same condition as it was in 1987. Sleeve is strong and intact, while the record is perfect.

This version is a rare Irish pressing which would be very limited in number. To find it in this condition is increasingly rare.

And yes - it includes the poster, which has never been unfolded and has remained in its sleeve for all these years. The image here is a stock photo and not my pristine example.

The only minor fault that I can find is that the glue has started to seep through on the sticker on the sleeve, ageing it.

As ever, this copy will be given a thorough and professional clean prior to dispatch.

A little bit about me ...

First of all, I HATE selling anything, especially vinyl records. But, as I advance in years, I realise that it’s time to let go, let someone else enjoy them and maybe make a bit of money out of them. Still, it’s hard to let go. Fear not though, I’m still keeping around 3,000 - and growing weekly.

That said, as my feedback will attest, I treat all buyers here as I would like to be treated myself. Items will be properly described, not qualified as “used” (which is of no use to anyone) using dedicated photos where appropriate or necessary. If I feel it’s sufficient to use stock photos, then I will, in individual cases. 

Items sold will also be properly and adequately packed, LPs will be removed from the sleeve to prevent knifing and extra cardboard will be used to further protect the sleeve and record from any possible damage. 

Most of my records are in great condition. I will point out and draw attention to any defects. All items unless sealed, will be play-tested and commented on. Records will be tested at realistic volume on a Linn Sondek and any pops, crackle, skips, jumps, scratches noted. In the main, I do not usually sell crap but occasionally I do, where the item may be regarded as both a collectors’ item or a collection filler. When this is the case, its poor condition will be WRIT LARGE and the price will reflect that. 

“I have never had a record returned or complained about owing to inadequate or deceptive description.” That’s no longer true - one was returned very recently as the result of my own inattention to detail. No malice was intended of course and I learned a valuable lesson from it.

I had one negative feedback for the first time in over 17 years on eBay, owing to a faulty VHS tape. Despite addressing the issue immediately, paying for the return and making good in the form of a refund, the buyer concerned still left me grossly unfair negative feedback. 

As a result, I have once more acquired a video player and any VHS tapes offered for sale in future will be thoroughly tested first.

I invite, encourage and respond quickly to any and all questions. I’d like to think of myself as a friendly and knowledgeable guy. I post promptly where possible and I ALWAYS communicate, advise and inform of dispatch or any unforeseen delays, no matter how slight. 

I never click on “dispatched” five minutes after the sale - I mark it as dispatched five minutes after it leaves my hands in the post office - not before.

Please note that posting to countries other than European ones can be prohibitively expensive ; I will post to these countries by prior arrangement, so, please wait for final invoice. In the case of the Russian Federation and South American countries, I will insist on items being tracked and signed for. 

Finally, I am pleased to advise that in the case of vinyl records, since mid-November 2020, I now wash, clean and vacuum all items (save new and sealed records) when posting for sale and again just prior to dispatch, once sold. This ensures that they arrive in the best possible condition, ready for playing. 

When writing this concerning my items for sale , I essentially have records in mind, but the same care and honesty goes for anything else that I might sell. 

A little bit about my post office and postage. 

A few years ago they closed my local post office which was just 450m away. This was replaced by a single counter in a garage, 550m away, so no big deal, though manning was erratic. A month or so ago, they closed this too and replaced it with ... a single counter in yet another garage, except this time, it’s now 5km away. 

So, a return trip of 10km each and every time I want to post something. Staffing is even more erratic and they close on Saturdays at 13:00.  As this takes time and costs money, I have to pass this on, though occasionally when I see upcoming sales, I try and wait to post them all together. 

January 2021

Royal Mail have increased their prices and so I will be forced to pass that on, especially as I now have to travel 10km to post each parcel or packet.

As I am now selling more books, I notice that these can be quite heavy and will necessitate a relevant charge for packaging and to post.

As for Brexit ... this brings a whole new set of issues. For now, it appears there are NO customs forms or much heftier charges to post to European countries. If, in the future there is, I will post on a weekly basis from the Republic of Ireland, Covid permitting.

I have been caught out posting double and triple LPs to European destinations. In future, I will have to increase my prices for any such records.

February 2021

I’ve found a new post office closer to home and one that is open seven days a week 08:00 - 20:00 ! So, I will probably use that in future. Do not be surprised therefore if items are actually posted on Saturdays and Sundays.

As ever, I will always update as to the status of dispatch - before and after.
