Description
You are bidding on the legendary(and only) 1960 lp by the hard bop supergroup The Young Lions. Named after the Irwin Shaw novel, this group red like a "who's who" of hard bop in the late 50s. Featuring the sax and trumpet sounds of legends Wayne Shorter and Lee Morgan, this album set the ground for much of jazz produced in the 1960s and later. On the back cover, none other than Cannonball Adderly calls this record a "stalwart" against the "charlatans" of avant garde jazz. I'm not sure if that is true, but this is some pretty remarkable, incredibly listenable traditional bebop by players who would go on to greater things.
