Description

Yusef Lateef         Before Dawn       mono    Verve 8217  T label

Yusef Lateef (ts, fl), Curtis Fuller(tb), Hugh Lawson(p), Ernie Farrow(b), Louis Hayes (d) Recorded 1957

T label both sides.

The record looks and plays VG to VG+  Both sides have superficial scuffs and blemishing which do not affect play.  Spindle marks on both labels.  There is a small app 1/4 inch scratch at the very end of Side 2.  It ticks for app 30 secs a bit below the level of the music.  Most of rest of record plays VG+.

 The cover is strong VG+.

The front cover has moderate wear.  The back cover has moderate wear, ring wear and a stamp. The spine is intact and readable.  The top seam is split 1/2 inch at the pocket and untaped. There is a one inch piece of tape in middle of seam but it doesn't look to be split there. The bottom seam is not split.   Spots of wear and denting at the corners of the pocket.

Black lines that might be visible at bottom left and top right in pictures are due to photo cropping and not on cover.

My highest grade is M- and I rarely grade 50s or 60s records M-. Records are graded visually using the Goldmine system. M-, VG++, VG+, VG, VG- etc. I play grade any potential problem areas.  I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws. You will be satisfied.  No hassles.
