Cat Stevens grew from a teen idol of the 1960s to one of the most influential singer-songwriters of all time. His lifelong spiritual quest repeatedly provided highs and lows throughout his groundbreaking career.

Cat, born Steven Demetre Georgiou, achieved great success at a young age in the mid-1960s with "I Love My Dog" and "Matthew and Son." A prolific songwriter, he was involved in songs such as "Wild World," "Lady D'Arbanville" and "The First Cut Is The Deepest." Titles which are still known today as international hits for a variety of artists.

"Collected" also includes Cat Stevens' version of "Morning Has Broken," a popular and well-known Christian hymn that became one of his biggest hits. The Collected double album is largely chronological and offers a cross-section of Stevens' career. From hits like "Matthew & Son" and "Midday (Avoid City After Dark)," to songs from later days under his Yusuf Islam identity.

Stevens is one of the few early '70s songwriters who specialized in folk and pop songs, and his releases continue to attract new listeners from each successive generation. Once again, this body of work will add new fans for Cat.
