Here is another from my personal collection! Purchased from new in 1972 an unbeleivable 36 years old! I hasve only ever played this album a handful of times and stored this in a case with the vinyl seperated from the sleeve and cover for protection! ,, This is how i have always stored my records! Very rare to find in this condition! The original 1st press cover is awesome try to find another copy like this! Becoming very highly sought after and collectable!!!Earliest press with A1 and B1 matrix endings and the original master pressers signature hand etched!!(see photos!

Just Another Band from L.A. is a live album by The Mothers, released in 1972 (see 1972 in music). It was recorded live in Pauley Pavilion on the campus of UCLA. A full version was later released on Playground Psychotics in the early 1990s. Often overlooked by reviewers, this album marks an important period in the band's career due to the extensive use of the Turtles band, soon to be dissolved with Zappa's stage fall. The song "Eddie, Are You Kidding?" refers to Edward Nalbandian!!!.

It was reissued in a digitally remastered version on CD by Rykodisc in 1990 and in 1995!

The Mothers of Invention was an American rock and roll band active from 1964 to 1975. They mainly performed works by and were the original recording group of composer and guitarist Frank Zappa, although other members have an occasional writing credit!

Initially, the group was named "The Soul Giants" and consisted of drummer Jimmy Carl Black, bass player Roy Estrada, saxophonist Davy Coronado, guitarist Ray Hunt, and vocalist Ray Collins. Some biographers report that Collins got into a fight with Hunt in 1964 (according to Collins: "I never touched Hunt, I don't even remember shaking his hand."), after which Hunt quit the group and Frank Zappa took his place as guitarist - quickly becoming the leader of the group, which changed its name to "The Mothers" on Sunday, May 10, 1964 (that year's Mother's Day)!!.

In late 1965, record producer Tom Wilson made a brief visit to a bar where The Mothers were playing and offered them a contract and an advance of $2500!!.

The Mothers and Wilson then spent several months and thousands of dollars recording and editing the band's first album, a double LP named Freak Out!. The band's name was short for "mother*uckers", and at the insistence of their record company, MGM Records, the group changed their name again, this time to "The Mothers of Invention". Their debut was released in 1966, and The Mothers of Invention subsequently went on tour.

MGM recorded sales of Freak Out! amounted to a relatively poor 30,000 copies. The record label responded by cutting the band's budget for their next LP to $11,000. The Mothers of Invention continued regardless, releasing Absolutely Free in 1967, We're Only in It for the Money in 1968 and Uncle Meat in 1969 under the leadership of Zappa!.

In 1969, Zappa disbanded the original Mothers of Invention lineup. Estrada went on to form Little Feat with Lowell George, who had been in the Mothers for a few months in late 1968 and early 1969 but was reportedly fired by Zappa because of his drug use!!.

In 1970, Zappa created a new incarnation of The Mothers which included Mothers' alumni Ian Underwood and Don Preston. This 'new' lineup also featured British-born drummer Aynsley Dunbar (ex-John Mayall's Bluesbreakers), multi-instrumentalist Ian Underwood (keyboards, guitar, woodwind, vocals) and Ruth Underwood (marimba, vibes), who had joined the original Mothers for the recording of Uncle Meat in 1969!!!.

The vinyl

On initial inspection this vinyl looks as new! It is quite obvious that this has been barely played at all! The vinyl retains its original sheen from new and lays perfectly flat on the turntable! Only in strong light only could possibly any sleeve removal scuffs be sleen (non audio sounding) To be honest I can just barely see a mino scuff!!

The Audio

I haver played this through at loud volume on a top system!! This plays through as good as it gets, cristal clear and vibrant through out (no) distortion (no) clicks or jumps!

The Labels

These are the original Reprise (Steamboat) labels in awesome condition I can just barely see a handful of spider marks (This has barely ever been played at all!! Little if no spindleware at all (The hole is perfectly round)

Plain white paper sleeve no splits or tares as new features patent no and ''Made in Gt Britain'' 

The Cover

This is the original (non) laminated MacNeil Press gatefold cover! Very Near Pristine! Mega rare to find like this after 36 years. (no) splits ,(no) tares (no) nasty hand writing and (no) creases Truly amaizing to find like this! any rubbing you will have to look really hard to find! A top copy!!!!
