Up for auction here is a pair of 12" singles from Zero 7's 2006 album The Garden. These singles, while only seven years old are now out-of-print and hard to find. They feature exclusive b-sides and remixes, and will make an excellent addition to the collection of any Zero 7 fan. These are my third copies of each of these singles, and I've got my eye on some new vinyl coming out soon and need to clear out some space in my flight cases. [I store all my vinyl in flight cases and, even though you can stack them, there's only so high I'm willing to go.]

First we have the Throw It All Away 12" single. In addition to the title track with vocals by long-time collaborator Sia Furler, you also get the b-side "Thistles" featuring Sia on vocals, as well as the instrumental track "Inaminute".  "Thistles" almost sounds like it could have been an outtake from the previous album, and is a must have for any Sia or Zero 7 fan (and was not available as one of the bonus tracks on the iTunes version of The Garden). Both b-sides are only available on the Throw It All Away single (both CD and 12" vinyl) and the very rare & expensive Japanese pressing of The Garden.

I'm the original owner of this single, and it has only been played a handful of times. The jacket is near mint with only a few minor (and barely noticeable) creases near the spine, and the inner white sleeve is untorn and in excellent condition. The vinyl itself is completely free from scratches. It did warp very slightly (probably when it was originally shipped to me) but it does not affect playback in any way.

Next we have the Futures 12" single. This single features three different remixes of the track. My favorite is the A Side featuring a remix by Eric Duncan and Thomas Bullock dba Rub N' Tug. This version bears the closest resemblance to the original and features most of the original vocals by Jose Gonzalez (one of the best remixes of a Zero 7 song by another artists to date). The Metronomy Remix is also pretty cool, but the last remix doesn't do much for me (possibly since it's an instrumental - I like the vocals on this song).

I'm the original owner of this single as well, and it too has only been played a handful of times. The jacket here is also in great condition, but not mint. In addition to some creasing near the spine (particularly on the back - sorry about the blurry pictures), there is also a crease (or bend) near the top of the back cover which did not really show up in the photo, and which I would consider very minor. The front of the jacket looks mint, but there is another crease (or bend) which is very hard to see but easy to feel with your finger. The vinyl itself is completely unscratched, but also not mint. I ordered this the day it was released, and it must have been a very warm September back in '06 because this record arrived more this just a little warped. My father (who collects very old classical vinyl) doesn't think it's that bad at all, but I was not happy about it when I got it in the mail, and I want to be very clear about it so the next buyer will know what they're getting. First, it does not affect playback in any way, at least not on my turntable or stereo, and I assume it will play perfectly on yours as well.  I believe this album was exposed to some heat before it arrived to me, and although it looks mint at first glance, you will notice some light warping when you spin it. If all you care about is how it sounds, you will not be disappointed.

I'm going to throw in a couple of Atlantic Records promo CDRs as well. The first is a three track promo [1. Futures 2. Seeing Things 3. Dreaming (the other b-side from the Japanese pressing of The Garden)]. The second is the promo for the You're My Flame single and includes the album version plus three remixes [Justus Kohncke Vox Mix; Blunt Laser Remix; Dabrye Remix]. Together, these two 12" singles and two promo CDRs provide you with all the essential b-sides and remixes from The Garden.

The bidding for these singles will start at $6.99, which is still about the average price for either one of these singles in VG condition, if and when you can find one, but here's an opportunity to essentially get two for the price of one, and in better condition from an original owner. If you're a Zero 7 fan looking to expand your collection, this is a deal you're going to want to take advantage of.

I recommend international buyers wait for an invoice before paying. Also, if I overcharge on International Shipping I will refund the difference - I'm not trying to profit on shipping, I just want to make sure I get enough to cover the costs. Sometimes I am able to ship for almost half what I charge (I try to do this whenever possible, but it depends on how I package the items and the final weight/measurement of that package). If I do ship for less, the difference gets refunded immediately after shipping. Always.
