Description
This is getting difficult to find. It's on the UK CBS label by The Zombies and is entitled 'Odessey and Oracle'.
It's a mono recording and the catalogue number is 63280. It was released originally in 1968. This example is in fine condition except that there is some constant audible surface noise on both sides of the record. The music is superb with great vocals by Colin Blunstone.
OUTER SLEEVE - The sleeve is laminated on the front and shows minor creasing. The edges and the spine are in fine condition and the wording along the spine is 100% readable. The rear of the sleeve is not laminated but shows very little wear or discolouration In view of this I've graded the sleeve as Ex-.
INNER BAG - The inner bag is a standard plain white paper type with a clear polythene lining.
RECORD - The record looks clean. It plays through very well on both sides with hardly any pops or clicks but I must confirm that throughout both sides there is definite surface noise which is mostly disguised during the musical periods but is evident in between tracks. I suspect that this might be to do with the quality of the pressing but I must admit that this record has been very well played. There are some superficial marks on either side. These marks do not detract further from the overall quality of record. There are definitely no jumps on any of the tracks on either side.
LABELS - The labels feature the normal CBS orange background with black wording. The labels are both in fine condition with definite spindle marks. On the label on side one there is a slightly darker orange patch (15mm x 10mm) which appears to be the spot where a sticker has been removed. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are as follows - side one - 63280 A1 - side two - 63280 B1. I've graded the record as VG only (because of the surface noise) which I believe is fair. I try to grade everything very conservatively and I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I guarantee everything I sell.
