It's been 45 years since Jeremy Zuckerman began learning the piano. In that time, he's played with metal and coldwave bands, studied jazz and computer music, graduating from the world renowned Berklee College of Music, and studied under the tutelage of the legendary Silver Apples of the Moon composer, Morton Subotnick. Since 2004, when he founded the Track Team with Deru, AKA Benjamin Wynn, his attention has been fixed on film and television compositions, and it's in the Avatar universe that he has really shone. Bombastic and pomp-y, Avatar The Last Airbender Book 2: Earth is a big classical when it wants and, cinematically, needs to be - the atmosphere, the arrangements, the impact. In other moments, it's all about the creeping tension, playfully toying with near-crescendos or slow, gradual reveals. All is delivered with aplomb.
