ZYGOAT "Electrophon" OBSCURE '74 UK POLYDOR LP MINT MUSICIANS FROM THE BBC RADIOPHONIC WORKSHOP
ZYGOAT
Electrophon

ORIGINAL UK POLYDOR (2383 270 SUPER) FIRST (and probably only) PRESSING OF ZYGOAT'S "Electrophon" LP (or ELECTROPHON'S "Zygoat" LP, depending on who you ask - listed as the former in the Rare Record Price Guide)
ALL KINDS OF ELECTRONIC PROG/ROCK WEIRDNESS ON THIS QUITE WONDERFUL LP FROM TWO OF THE ORIGINAL MEMBERS OF THE BBC RADIOPHONIC WORKSHOP RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INCIDENTAL MUSIC AND SOUND EFFECTS ON THE DOCTOR WHO SERIES

Difficult to find any information on this obscure LP, performed solely on ARP & RSE Synthesizers, but it appears to be a collaboration between Brian Hodgson and Dudley Simpson (although the LP credits Burt Alcantara as the composer?).
Brian Hodgson was the original sound effects creator for the science fiction programme Doctor Who at the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. After leaving the Workshop, he set up the Electrophon studio in Covent Garden, where along with another Doctor Who composer Dudley Simpson and under the name "Electrophon" the duo released the album Zygoat in 1974.
And thats just about it, so anyone who has any additional info I'd be very interested

THIS COPY IS IN EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION HAVING SEEN ONLY A COUPLE OF CAREFUL PLAYS AND DELIVERS FLAWLESS, MINT AUDIO THROUGHOUT
AND THE LP IS HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL FULLY TEXTURED SINGLE SLEEVE "Printed and made by MacNeill Press Ltd., London, S.E.1" WITH THE FIRST PRESS MATRIX NUMBERS: 2383270 A//1 420 05 11 4 / 2383270 B//1 420 05 11 4

GREAT STUFF - SOUNDS LIKE A COMBINATION OF DOCTOR WHO AND TANGERINE DREAM AND THE MUSIC PLAYS WITHOUT A BREAK

Side A: (the play is continuous)
Leaves Of Sand / Zygoat / Ybur Knom / Pillar Of Salt / Movement To The Earth / Seeds Cast To The Wind
Side B: (the play is continuous)
Zy-Clone / Ybur Doon / Zygomania / The Ladder Of Zeugma / The Libran Sea / Perseverance Furthers

LABELS: CLEAN and BRIGHT with NO wear, NO writing and only a couple of light spindle traces. The spindle hole is still quite tight indicating how little this copy has been on a turntable
VINYL Visual: The vinyl surfaces retain their original DEEP, LIKE-NEW, GLOSSY SHEEN and are practically UNMARKED (some light sleeve-removal type hairlines only which have NO audio consequence)
VINYL Audio: SUPERB - CRYSTAL CLEAR, RICH AND SHARP SOUND. On playback at a LOUD volume there are NO scratches, NO jumps/sticks, NO surface noise and NO loud clicks or pops. TREMENDOUS RECORD which plays to the highest possible standard with NO groove-wear and NO distortion and is graded MINT for audio
SLEEVE: The FULLY TEXTURED cover is CLEAN, BRIGHT and FRESH with just some light surface rubbing and light spine wear otherwise, EXCELLENT+
