Description
Hi,
You are looking at a copy of the Zabriskie Point LP soundtrack. Featuring Pink Floyd, John Fahey and Jerry Gracia (Grateful dead). This is a rare UK 2nd edition from 1970. You don't see this version around to often, especially in this condition.
There is absolutely no spindle wear what-so-ever (see photo 3), There is still that nice shine that new records have. I would put the record itself at a 'Near mint' grading!
The cover is also in Excellent condition. It has the corners 'pinched' as most sleeves do from this era. The only issue is the slight scuffing of the bottom left (see photo 6) and right corners from storage. This doesn't take anything away from the overall presentation of the sleev and I would grade it as 'Excellent'.
There are some slight differences compared to later versions which make this edition even more desirable, which should be noted.
I have compared the following differences to a 1978 UK 4th edition of this album which I also own.
First the bottom of the sleeve with the MGM trademark, then the wording "Marketed by POLYDOR RECORDS LTD., LONDON" followed by "Sleeve printed and made by Macneill Press Ltd., London, S.E.1" Also notable is the Mono symbol to the right used to note the two tracks that have been electronically reprocessed to give a stereo effect on stereo equipment (see photo 4).
Different as well is the top right corner with the MGM super logo (see photo 5).
Also with the label itself there is "Sold in UK" printed within the label edge (see photo 3).
