DESCRIPTION:

We are proud to offer for sale possibly the finest condition UK 1st pressing MONO copy of Odyssey and Oracle ever to be offered on eBay. This copy is from the CBS production library. It is likely to be one of the very first copies pressed from the first stamper (As was the practice of CBS at the time). The production library held copies of every UK LP released by CBS for reference. This record features the Production library stamps on the back cover and on both labels. It is incredibly rare to find a Mono pressing of this album in Near mint crisp condition it would be rarer still to find one from the very first run from the very first stamper with such a superb and documented provenance.

CONDITION:

We have been collecting and trading records for many years professionally and genuinely want you to be happy with your purchase. For this reason we treat grading very seriously and as our feedback suggests conservatively. You will note from the image above our records are Lorricraft cleaned and inspected under magnified very bright light.

Cover

The front laminated cover retains it’s incredibly vibrant colour. The seams and pinched spine and are sharp, crisp and true. You will note the image above of the opening edge which is sharp and un-feathered. The corners are as perfectly crisp as the day it left the factory.

The back cover is also in superb order with it’s pastel watercolour imagery in superb definition and condition. All text is legible and crisp. No writing, CBS Production library stamp mid right. The original inner sleeve is wonderfully crisp, defying age and deterioration – We can find no fault in it. We grade this cover and inner sleeve as Near Mint (NM)

(N.B: In most cases we would be forced to downgrade the cover due to the stamp, however in this instance as it is from ‘the factory’ we believe it adds to the record and as such see it as key provenance in the same way ‘factory sample or ‘for demonstration’ markings / stickers are often prized. )

RECORD

The flat well centered playing surfaces display a superb rainbow luster under bright magnified light. The textured and production library stamped MONO CBS labels also display superbly showing only x1 spindle trail to each of the spindle holes (Which probably occurred in quality control) No writing, stickers or other detractors.

There is NO warp or buckle, this is a stunning example and we grade it without reservation visually as Near Mint (NM) and Audibly as NM (Near Mint) ...As a side note I have never heard this album sound better – Please see above for an image of this record preparing for play testing in our demo room.
