The duchess is back! Bringing to you another fine batch of rare/sought after items from my collection.

Including this one, a super rare fab condition record: Cookin' LP by Zoot sims.

No. FJL 123. Dated 1965. Label: Fontana (part of the 'Popular Jazz series). Recorded live at the Ronnie Scott club, London on the 13th, 14th and 15th November, 1961. Band: Zoot sims (Tenor sax), Stan Tracey (piano), Kenny Napper (bass) and Jackie Doogan (drums). This is a SCORCHING jazz rarity. Definately not run of the mill and VERY sought after!!!!!!!

I have played this record on my Pioneer Deck Amp through Wharfedale speakers using a M95 ED Cartridge.  I will attempt to make everything as clear as i can to the best of my ability. I have looked at the record under a 100 watt lightbulb to make certain I can see anything that may be on the surface of the record.

Condition of the record -

1. The central labels: - please see photo. No writing. Side 1 is EX+ and side 2 is EX (due to 2 tiny blemishes, which can both be seen on the photo).
2. Under the light, I can see about 5/6 light surface marks on side one, which do not affect its play. There are a couple of light blemishes a 1/4" either side of the last track, and did not affect its play. I therefore grade this record as EXCELLENT minus (side one) and EXCELLENT minus/ EXCELLENT (side 2). I have played the record both sides, and (to my relief!) played syperbly, with a tiny bit of static in a few of the low spots (but not all). I actually think it has played in a condition not far off the day it was bought. I enjoyed listening to this all the way through! A great item - A must for any serious jazz collector!!!!!! In my guide it's listed at £150 in Mint condition.

Condition of the cover -

1. Front: There is some slight wear on each corner and along the bottom and top seam. There is a crease in the laminate on the top left corner and some light creasing around the record shape. There is also some slight wear on the opening. The front does maintain a lovely gloss and the spine looks good. EXCELLENT MINUS.
2. Back: Shows some signs of ageing/ minor foxing. The back is not laminated and because of this, I'd say is VG/VG+. No writing or marks.
