on the flying dutchman records label, white label promo, stereo pressing, catalog # FDS-104, from 1969.  14 tracks.  early flying dutchman release, meant to give an overview of things to come from the label, or to establish what the label was about perhaps.  stylistically this is all over the map:   side one is funky soul jazz/rock, with some killer drums......personnel on side one includes:  tom scott;  gary coleman;  howard roberts;  john guerin and many more.  side two:   an overview of the history of jazz, with many of the same personnel as side one, with horace tapscott added on piano.  side three:   a dedication to john coltrane, featuring elvin jones;  joe farrell;  wilbur little on track one.  track three features ornette coleman;  charles moffett;  david izenzon;   and charlie haden.  and lastly, side four:   a side long track entitled "a few thoughts for the day", featuring the musique concrete tape manipulation work of jon appleton, along with other members mentioned above, with samples from news stories of the day and electronic sounds.   killer set, hardly ever offered for sale.   gatefold two pocket cover is .   labels have name written on each side.  vinyl is VG+, with a few light paper scuffs.  vinyl has been cleaned on a VPI.  check my other auctions this week for many more great private press;  jazz;  funk;  soul and other genres.......just a killer batch of records this week, buy a bunch & save on shipping.



while i strive to keep my ebay sales fun and hassle free, i do have a couple new rules, due to some unfortunate activity from my previous rounds of auctions:    both ITALY & FRANCE customers must pay PRIORITY AIRMAIL shipping, regardless of the final value of the item(s)......no EXCEPTIONS!    i've avoided this new policy for some time, but in my last round of auctions i had four charge-backs, so this has become mandatory.....shipping prices are quoted below.   also, i do not accept bids from those of you with zero feedback.  sorry, no exceptions.  thanks in advance for your understanding.  as always, i will not end auctions early, please don't even bother to ask.

all records are original pressings unless noted......i do not sell current reissues.  please ask any questions early, as i am not always by my computer near the end of auctions.    buyer pays shipping, see rates below.   all records are shipped in dedicated record mailers, with record shipped outside of cover when applicable, with two cardboard inserts.   paypal is the only accepted form of payment at this time.

i have to state that i will ship for $4.00 according to new ebay rules, but i do not like to use media rate, or first class domestic either....both take far too long, and items have sometimes gone missing as well.   if you absolutely have to save $3.00 on shipping, then that is what you'll get, media rate for $4.00, including delivery confirmation....to me, as a seller (and a buyer, for that matter) it takes too long, and i end up with too many questions ( 'where is my record?'   'when did you ship it?'  etc, etc).   i strongly urge you to use priority......you can avoid a heavy box of books being placed on your fragile record, and you'll get it so much faster.    i prefer you use priority shipping with the US, and the cost is $7.00, including delivery confirmation.   first class airmail shipping to CANADA is also $7.00.   first class airmail shipping to MOST OF EUROPE, JAPAN & AUSTRALIA is $14.00.   priority airmail shipping is $28.00 worldwide, and is required on all shipments to both ITALY and FRANCE.   I DO NOT SHIP to SOUTH AMERICA, MEXICO or ISRAEL at this time, NO EXCEPTIONS.   i will gladly combine items to save on shipping, i try not to make ANY money on shipping costs, i typically lose money honestly.   payment is expected within 7 days of auction end.   thanks for looking, and good luck.
